Crown and Bridge Treatments

When a significant part of the tooth is lost to decay or trauma, a crown is often the best way to replace the lost tooth structure and strengthen what remains. A crown (also called a ‘cap’) fits over the top part of the tooth and finishes at the gum level. It is made from a combination of white porcelain on the outside, and a gold alloy on the inside for strength.
A Bridge is a good way to replace a missing tooth or teeth. It involves placing crowns on the teeth near the gap with false teeth (pontics) attached to those crowns. The result can look very natural and restore dental function in that area.
